WIST, May 17 -- In Optics Valley of China (OVC) , the international students of the School of Business and Trade (SBT) had a Chinese class instructed by Li Zhiyong, a Chinese teacher of WIST.
Li first led the students to visit the landmark of OVC --- a sculpture named Xinghe, which means the Milky Way and represents the target of Wuhan to be an international city with innovation and a beautiful city with the charm of rivers and lakes. Li explained to the students, "Currently, Optics Valley is building a national highland for scientific and technological innovation, with emerging sci-tech parks and continuous breakthroughs of key technologies." Along the way, Li conducted immersive teaching for students, explaining the Chinese vocabulary of shopping, Wuhan's commercial civilization and digital development. The students explore the bustling commercial and cultural diversity of Wuhan among the antique architecture and colorful neon lights.
This learning trip not only innovates the teaching mode, but also provides a good atmosphere and environment for international students to understand Wuhan and China. "We have had an impressing and amazing Chinese class in Optics Valley," the international students said.
