WIST, April 5 -- On the occasion of the Qingming Festival, also called Tomb-Sweeping Day or Pure Brightness Day, the School of Business and Trade (SBT) organizes the international students to experience Chinese traditional cultural activities for the festival.
On the afternoon of April 4th, the international students of SBT watched documentaries such as “Four Seasons of China: Qingming Festival” and "The Great Beauty of China: Family and Nation on Pure Brightness Day", understanding the historical background of the Qingming Festival and its importance in traditional Chinese culture. When watching the documentaries, they ate Qingtuan (green rice balls), the special delicacy Chinese people eat in spring.
On April 5, they prepared for the coming video shooting activity of "Light of WIST: International Students’ Exploration Journey". They are recording with videos their life and learning experiences at WIST.
Through these activities, they have further understood the cultural significance of Qingming Festival, according to the international students.
