WIST, March 20 -- The School of Business and Trade (SBT) organized a group of eight Thai international students to visit the East Lake on Wednesday. They rode bicycles, enjoyed the cherry blossoms, took photos, tasted local delicacies, and experienced traditional Chu culture. They spent a fulfilling and enjoyable day.
In March, the East Lake Cherry Blossom Garden is filled with cherry blossoms, creating a dreamy scene. At 9:30 a.m., Xia Guang, a counselor of SBT, along with the assistants accompanied eight international students majoring in Modern Logistics Management on a subway ride to the Wuhan East Lake Eco-tourism Scenic Area. They entered the Tingtao Scenic Area through Liyuan (the Pear Garden) and leisurely walked along the lakeside corridor. The combination of the greenway, the lake, and the blue sky formed a beautiful picture. Xia introduced the students to the story of Qu Yuan (ca. 340-278 B.C.E.), a famous ancient Chinese poet who “swam in the rivers and recited along the riverbank,” as well as the metasequoia trees, the endemic trees in the East Lake. Riding bicycles along the East Lake Greenway, they enjoyed the scenic views.
After the tour, everyone was amazed by the beautiful scenery of the East Lake and recorded the wonderful moments in his/her e-album. Zhang Xiaole, an internatioanl student shared the stunning view with his friends in Thailand through a video call, and they greatly praised it. This tour to the East Lake not only enriches their lives in China but also allows them to have a deeper understanding of Wuhan’s natural landscapes and cultural heritage, according to the international students.
