WIST, December 31 -- From December 29 to 31 the School of Business and Trade (SBT) organized a series of New Year activities for international students, including preparations for “Telling China’s Story in English,” a New Year’s Day gala, and drawing New Year greeting cards. Headteacher Zhang Mengshu, the international students from Thailand, and some teaching assistants participated in the event.
On December 29, Zhang and teaching assistants led the international students in preparing for the 4th “Telling China’s Stories in English” competition. This competition is a comprehensive humanistic literacy activity with the theme of promoting Chinese culture. The international students can share China’s stories in Chinese. Zhang encouraged them to view the competition as an opportunity to enhance their Chinese proficiency and to participate with the right mindset, striving for good results.
On December 30, the international students together with the teaching assistants took part in the New Year’s Gala. During the event, everyone showcased their talents and participated in group games. They played and sang Chinese and Thai songs on their guitars, immersing themselves in the joy of the New Year’s festivities.
On December 31, the international students made New Year’s Day greeting cards. They depicted the Yangtze River Bridge and the Yellow Crane Tower, expressing their emotions after arriving in Wuhan through their drawings, and wrote blessings for the future, such as “all the best” and “good health”.
