WIST, December 16 -- The “Sino-German HWK Dual System Alliance” was officially established at the Sino-German Innovation Industrial Park in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. WIST has been recognized as a founding member of this Alliance.
Handwerkskammer (HWK), officially certified by Germany, is the birthplace of Germany’s “dual system” vocational education system and one of the standard setters for German professional qualification certification. The Sino-German HWK Dual System Alliance (Alliance) aims to promote exchanges in vocational education between China and Germany and facilitate deep cooperation between domestic vocational colleges and the German Handicraft Chamber through the Alliance platform.
Since WIST cooperated with the German Embassy and the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (AHK) in the Greater China Region in 2016, WIST has adhered to the vocational education concept based on the dual system in Germany. By relying on the AHK professional qualification examination platform, WIST has deepened education and teaching reforms, improved the quality of talent training, and gained significant influence in the industry. In 2020, WIST was awarded the national “Sino-German Vocational Education and Industry-Education Integration Cooperation Demonstration Project”.
Based on this, WIST has consistently expanded the scope and forms of international cooperation in vocational education. On December 16, 2022, during the establishment of the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industrial Park under the Sino-German HWK Dual System Alliance, WIST was elected as one of the founding members.
WIST is awarded “a founding member unit”.
As a founding member of the alliance, WIST will continue to deepen the Sino-German dual system pilot work, enhance cooperation and exchanges in vocational education between China and Germany, actively learn from Germany’s experience in vocational education, establish a high-level vocational-industry integration training base and talent cultivation base with a radiation and leading role, create a national teaching innovation team for educators, and promote the steady improvement of talent cultivation quality.
