WIST, June 12 -- In order to enhance the awareness of fire safety among international students and enhance their ability to respond to emergencies, the School of International Cultural Exchange, the Security Department, the School of Economics and Management, and the School of Business and Trade jointly organized a visit to the local fire and rescue station of Hanyang District, allowing international students to experience fire fighting and rescue from zero distance.
At the station, international students gained a comprehensive understanding of the station's function, firefighting equipment, emergency response procedures, and self rescue and mutual assistance skills in emergency situations. The staff provided a detailed introduction to the use of firefighting equipment and demonstrated how to use fire hydrants for firefighting. International students actively participated. After putting on the firefighting clothing, one of the international students Sattawat Naka said, “Firefighters, wearing heavy firefighting clothing and equipment, are such a strong group of heroes who rush into fire to rescue people in danger.”
At the end of the visit, international students said that through this event, they have got many practical emergency response skills and are more confident in dealing with possible emergencies in future. (Photo by Li Yingfei, Yuan Lijia)
