WIST, December 21 -- The "Belt and Road" International Forum on Vocational Education was held in Baoding City and Xiong’an New Area of Hebei Province from December 20 to 21, 2023. As a case of WIST was selected by the China Vocational Education Association (CVEA), vice president Wang Zhenzhi was invited to attend the event on behalf of WIST.
In 2023, the case titled Embarking on a Voyage with Ships to Build a WIST Model of the Maritime Silk Road was selected in the “Compilation of Vocational Education Cooperation Achievements in the Decade of Jointly Building the BRI” by CVEA.
As a supporting event of the people-to-people bonds discussion of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, this forum is also a concrete measure to fully implement President Xi Jinping’s significant remarks on co-building the BRI. The forum’s theme is “Promoting the Adaptability and Modernization of Vocational Education through Jointly Building the BRI”. It is led by the CVEA, co-sponsored by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and the Asia Education Forum, and jointly organized by the Baoding Municipal People’s Government and the Xiong’an New Area Management Committee. The meeting was attended by over 500 individuals, including representatives from government, embassies, and consulates in China, chambers of commerce from 27 countries, 24 international organizations, Fortune Global 500 companies, foreign colleges and universities, overseas representatives, relevant leaders from domestic ministries and commissions, provinces and cities, heads of organizations at all levels of the China Vocational Education Association, representatives from local governments, industry-education integrated enterprises, and vocational institutions.
