Faculty from SSOE conduct skill training for Keeson Vietnam employees overseas

WIST, December 16 -- Bai Xiang, a part-time teacher at WIST, on behalf of Keeson Industry Institute, conducted training on intelligent manufacturing, new welding technologies, and other skill areas for young employees at Keeson Plant in Binh Duong (KPB), Vietnam on Saturday .

Bai, a chief equipment engineer of Keeson Technology Corporation Limited (KTCL), is primarily responsible for equipment import and management at the new welding hardware factory, and has unique insights into intelligent manufacturing and new robotic welding technologies. He has been hired as a part-time lecturer by the School of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering (SSOE) of WIST since October 2019.

On the morning of the training, Bai mainly explained to the trainees of KPB the theoretical aspects of intelligent manufacturing and the application of welding robot technology. In the afternoon, the trainees operated welding robots under his guidance. Over 100 young employees from KPB participated in the training. They highly praised this “theory + practice” training and expressed that they had gained valuable skills.

The successful completion of this year’s overseas training tasks signifies the further enhancement of the school-enterprise cooperation between WIST and KTCL.
