WIST, December 18 -- Good news from North Africa International Innovation Alliance was recently received. After intense competition, students Min Qilong and Xu Junjie from the School of Computer Information Technology (SCIT) won the second prize in the final of the Virtual Reality Competition (China Division) of the First China-North Africa International Vocational Education Digital Innovation Skills Competition and successfully advanced to the international final. Liu Jun and Zhang Jie earned the titles of Excellent Instructor.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education of Morocco and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Tunisia and sponsored by SNAEIA, OFPPT (Morocco), and Esprit (Tunisia). Nearly 800 players from over 300 teams representing different countries participated in the competition. Its goal is to enhance international cooperation in digital innovation within vocational education between China and North Africa, facilitate the exchange of international experiences in digital development and vocational skills training, and foster more innovative talents in professional fields.
Contestants in the virtual reality competition were required to plan the product for the virtual simulation theme exhibition hall based on the task book requirements. This included scene planning, content planning, function planning, UI planning, and interaction planning. They then had to prepare the virtual reality materials, such as 3D models, scene rendering, UI interfaces, videos, pictures, audio, and other materials. Finally, they completed the development of their entries. The teachers and students from SCIT had put great effort into theme planning, 3D modeling, virtual interaction, and other aspects since they registered for the competition. As a result, they achieved an impressive second place in the China Division finals.
