WIST, November 28 -- The 2nd National Finals (Higher Vocational Group) of Cross-Border E-commerce Skills and Data Analysis at the 2023 Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition officially concluded at Guangxi Agricultureal Engineering Vocational Technical College. The competition attracted 5,815 teams from 523 colleges and universities across the country. After the preliminary contest, semi-final, and the two-day final, two teams guided by Zhang Manqi, head of Business Data at the School of Business and Trade, and Jiang Xianliang, head of E-commerce, stood out: Wang Qinghua and Yao Qianziyue, students of 2021 cohort, won the first prize; Sun Yuxuan, a student of 2021 cohort, and Xia Dongfeng, a student of 2022 cohort, won the second prize. Meanwhile, the School of Business and Trade also won the Best Organization Award in the competition.
This competition primarily evaluated the comprehensive abilities of contestants in areas such as cross-border e-commerce platform operation and data analysis. Two representative teams from the School of Business and Trade performed exceptionally well in the competition, demonstrating excellent professionalism and innovation in the field of cross-border e-commerce through seamless teamwork. The competition closely aligned with industry trends, guided contestants in acquiring new knowledge and skills, and showcased students’ practical and innovative abilities as well as their adaptability to professional roles in cross-border e-commerce. It actively explored the deep integration of international demands, professional standards, and teaching standards in the new landscape of cross-border e-commerce. This initiative further promoted the development of relevant majors, curricula, and teaching methods, effectively enhancing the quality of education and talent training. Ultimately, it aimed to cultivate versatile, innovative, and internationally oriented professionals for the cross-border e-commerce industry.
